Breed Consolidation Continues EDITORIAL Albeit the unfortunate circumstances suffered for the greater part of 2021, it seems that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Equestrian competitions are returning to relative normality, especially in the case of Dressage. Even the 2021 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses was held in Verden, Germany. Once again, we have presented a team made up of six Purebred Spanish Horses that have represented the breed in one of the most important world Dressage events. For the first time, we have had a large source of young horses for selection to make up a great team. This means that the current system is working and progress is exponential. I am convinced that we are starting to harvest the fruits of success thanks to the implementation of coherent policies that applied for some time; ANCCE participation in Dressage and Young Horse Selection Tests (PSCJ). This has all been possible thanks to major contributions by the breed and our breeders in terms of equitation progress in Spain. I am very excited with ANCCE’s the new push for Working Equitation—an internationally accepted discipline in which PRE horses have more than promising future. Proof of this is that ANCCE is already organizing regional competitions. The Andalusian competition will take place the 2nd and 3rd of October at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Together with these activities, I am especially proud of ANCCE thanks to those important awards that recognize its great and extensive path. Firstly, ANCCE received the City of Seville Gold Medal, followed by Medal of Andalusia and more recently His Majesty the King has granted us the title of Royal, an award that honors more than five centuries of constant collaboration with the Spanish crown. In just a few months, the 31st edition of SICAB will be held—hopefully as normal as possible—which would be a major success for the breed. I can guarantee that SICAB 2021 will be held, one way or another. It is a proven fact that this event is essential to showcase our breed internationally. 2022 will not be short from exciting. ANCCE will celebrate its 50th year of history. It was back in 1972 when a group of business-minded breeders had the wonderful idea of creating an association to defend their professional interests. Of those founding breeders, few remain, but all of them are part of our breed history. I hope that we will be able to celebrate this special anniversary as all ANCCE members deserve, which is none other than to be one step closer to world consolidation of our beloved Purebred Spanish Horse.
